On the 101st Anniversary of the Homestead Inauguration

It is fitting that just ahead of the 101st anniversary of Calvin Coolidge’s first inauguration, the first time a President was administered the oath of office by his own father, a notary public, in their ancestral home at Plymouth Notch, Vermont, in the early morning hours of August 3, 1923, the first copy of ‘Salient Cal’s America: Reappraising the Harding & Coolidge Era‘ arrived in the post.

We look forward to a wonderful year ahead for everyone out there in COOLIDGE COUNTRY! We are so thankful to all who contributed to its successful completion and, as it goes out to readers, what good will come from a better understanding of Cal, Grace, and the America they served one hundred years ago. Please check out the book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers coming soon.

A snapshot of the Homestead’s front parlor during my visit to Plymouth in 2018, thanks to the great Mr. William Jenney and the wonderful folks at the Coolidge Foundation for an extraordinary adventure.
